Rom Hunter
The only rumored 20th Century Fox titles are these: http://www.digitpress.com/video-game-guide/?section%5B%5D=6&mode=Search&title=&Mfr=20th+Cent.+Fox&Released=&Developer=&Designer=&scarcity_loose=&dollars_loose=&scarcity_complete=&dollars_complete=&PartNo=
Klove
Interesting email exchange... "We were losing money on everything. Fox, for example, created a game associated with MASH. They were so sure that it was going to be a hit that they manufactured tons of cartridges. They only sold about 10% of them. This happened over and over again.I was hired as Director of SW development. I had about 12 SW engineers, a graphics designer and a sound engineer. About 1/2 of the SW guys worked on the 2600. The rest worked on those other machines that I listed. There had been some outside developers but they were mostly gone by the time I got there. Fox management (founders) were not very happy with these contractors."
Klove
.... and another I was there at the bitter end. I was sitting at my desk when XXXX walked in and said "meeting meeting". We all went to the big conference room. One of the head guys walked in and told us that Fox had dropped us and they had tried to sell us, once to IBM, and failed. We were told to go home.
Klove
... and yet another. "A Submarine Game?" No 2600 stuff for me. I never worked for that administration. I think two Asian women had done some 2600 work, one had done a submarine game based on a TV show. I did interview at Fox a few years before with Tom XXXXXXX, who I worked with years later at SXXX. He didn't hire me at Fox because I had no 2600 experience.
Tempest
"A Submarine Game?" Could be Crash Dive which was originally Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, but that was done by Bill Aspromonte
Klove
Hmm... He's telling me it was definitely Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea. Also, he can't remember last names, but there were definitely Two (2) asian ladies working on the project, by the name's of Gail and Amy. :-/ Maybe they or he were let go and either one of them finished it up? - Ken

Or it could be the 8-bit version which was never released. Or perhaps we have the wrong programmer down for the game?
AtariBuff
Bill Aspromonte's name is also stated on the back of the Crash Dive box.
Klove
That's entirely possible. He did say that these girls were working on the 2600 version. Fix DID also dabble in the Atari 400/800 and Commodore 64 systems, but it was VERY short lived.
Tempest
Bill Aspromonte's name is also stated on the back of the Crash Dive box. Maybe Bill is really an Asian woman?
Crazy Climber
They could have been hired code monkeys while Bill did the heavy lifting, etc
Klove
OK, the names of the programmers were Amy Chen and Flora Ng.
Klove
Alligator People was a license based off of this 1959 Sci-Fi B-Movie.. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052549/ BUT.. Perhaps you already knew this. - Ken
Rom Hunter
OK, the names of the programmers were Amy Chen and Flora Ng. Thanks, but did they really program Crash Dive?
Tempest
I swear someone (DP?) did an interview with Bill and he mentioned doing Crash Dive. I think he also thought it went unreleased because it was one of the last games released by TCF.
Klove
Flora Ng and Amy Cheng.. Atari 400/800 rev. Will chat with Bill, more, as we head into next week. - Ken
moycon
Awesome thread. I think 20th Century Fox was one of my favorite 3rd party game companies. Awesome games and I loved the box designs. Plus making games based off TV shows and movies was always just so cool to me!
+bfstats
And what of the "Unknown Universal Prototype", Ken. I STILL think that was intended to be Six Pack.
