SuperDork3000
I'm curious to know what other videogame consoles you collect for besides Atari Jaguar? As for me I also collect for... Dreamcast and Sega Saturn. My Dreamcast collection is small compared to Jaguar and I'm starting to collect for the Saturn again. I had a huge Saturn collection at one time, but sold all of it due to financial problems.
+madman
I have an Atari 2600 I occasionally pick up cheap commons for, wouldn't really call it collecting as I have no goals for certain games or rares. Atari 5200, 7800 and Lynx (completed a full collection). From the Nintendo lineup I collect Virtual Boy, N64 and select GBA, GameCube and Wii games. Sega I'm going for a 32x collection and select Saturn imports. I've got a number of other consoles but nothing I consider as collecting for. Clint Thompson
I don't even collect anymore, although I do sorely miss my Dreamcast collection and having the opportunity to play just any game ever made for the thing whenever I wanted. Over the years I've slowly shifted back to PC gaming because the tech part excites me. With that said, I just off loaded my 360 recently and it sold for shit money with a ton of games but I guess that's expected due to the generation shift. Rick Dangerous
I additionally collect for the Jaguar CD unit. Mine are listed below in my signature. Missing my 3DS for some reason.. Over the years I've also sold off my original Xbox collection, my Saturn collection, and my Panasonic 3DO collection. I don't really miss any of those TBH. I'd rather not own anything from Microsoft, I'd rather have my Dreamcast than a Saturn, and I'd rather have the Jag than the 3DO. Okay...I sort of wish I still had my 3DO sometimes. Just for the games that weren't on the Jag, which is a lot. Edited July 23, 2014 by travistouchdown
posyden81
Atari (2600/Jag), NES, Sega/CD/32x, SNES, N64, DC,GC, PS2/3, 360, and my DS for when I'm on the go. My favorites are Sega because of how easy it is to get CIB, SNES and Dreamcast. That may be one of my favorite systems. I'm finding quickly how $$ it can be to collect some Jag games...Edit: Forgot to add Wii and Wii-U. Austin
I suppose it depends on what you classify as "collecting". To some people, buying the random game in the wild is collecting, whereas to others getting every single game for a platform with major and minor variants is collecting. I am kind of in the middle of both. In the first category, I have and buy a few games here and there that hold a lot of nostalgia value for me. Sometimes I hold on to them, sometimes I don't. For the most part I rely on flash carts (or backups in the case of the Neo-Geo CD and 3DO) to get my classic gaming fix. In the later category, I technically collect for the Dreamcast. I am missing just one game to have a full US library (around 270 games?), and I am missing a couple of minor variants as well. I have most of the US console bundle/box variants and I'll be diving into most of the English-friendly imports as well. Right now my total DC game count (with homebrews and imports) is about 320. Along with the DC, I try to "collect" complete or boxed hardware as well. I'm a little under 30 systems right now (not counting dupes, handhelds or computers, which will take the number to over 40). I try not to buy duplicates or variants anymore since space is limited (with the exception being the Dreamcast), and have five to ten slightly more obscure systems to get ahold of (Neo-Geo AES, Neo-Geo CDZ, Jaguar CD, FM Towns Marty, a CIB Heavy Sixer, etc.). You can see my full DC, console, and Castlevania (something else I collect) collections in my signature links below.

I have been brushing up my DC collection lately as well and can't say enough about that system. Way ahead of it's time. Makes the N64 looks like a childs toy (and I say that as someone who loves the N64.) Speaking of which, have you beaten the two Castlevania's on N64? What is your take on those? I have most of the Castlevania's as well.

I'm in the minority on this, but I have beaten both games many times and really enjoy them. Sort of underrated titles in my opinion. They are tough to adjust to though, so I can understand why some people dislike them.

Agree 100%. I love those games. Not quite sure why some people consider them the black sheep of the series. There is a great 3D Castlevania on PS2 that I have and enjoy as well, but I can't recall the name of it right now.
posyden81
I beat Castlevania 64 and didn't think it was a bad game. The draw distance and camera got funky sometimes, but I enjoyed it. Haven't played it since so I'm not sure if it aged well or not..

Dreamcast and Sega Saturn. My Dreamcast collection is small compared to Jaguar and I'm starting to collect for the Saturn again. I had a huge Saturn collection at one time, but sold all of it due to financial problems. The Jaguar is really the only system that I would say I actually "Collect" for... meaning that I want every game. Next I'd have to say the Atari 2600... I'll never get all the games, but I have 300+ now (no dupes), and am always willing to pick up new ones, both homebrews, etc. For the NES, I already have all the games I'll ever want for that system (mostly).... same goes for the SNES. I am still actually buying games for the Wii, Saturn, and Dreamcast.

I bought like three of them, gave one to my friend who grew up with Commodores, kept one, and then I don't remember who I gave the other one too... anyway, they were selling for like $39 bucks, NIB... I ended up selling it... I think I only plugged it in once. I haven't seen one on eBay for a long time. Strange thing about the CD32 is that it had MANY... Soccer Kid, Worms, etc... You're right! Besides the two mentioned above; Pinball Fantasies, Cannon Fodder, Syndicate, Theme Park, Sensible Soccer, Brutal Sports Football, Power Drive Rally (Power Drive), Dino Dudes (The Humans), Flashback, Myst, Total Carnage, Zool 2… did I miss any? A couple of the games such as Dino Dudes and Flashback didn't exactly have a CD32 specific release, but of course can still be played on the system. And the CD32 has its share of Raiden type shooters, puzzle games up the ying-yang, kart racers, Doom-clones, etc. Great little system! +save2600
Other systems besides the Jag that I currently maintain or collect for include: Amiga and CD32 Atari 2600 Commodore 64 PC Engine Sony PS1 (a PAL system strictly and only to play War of the Worlds), PS2 and PS3 TI-99/4A Vectrex …I'm oddly devoid of any Nintendo and Sega systems these days and I'm fine with that I guess. I love nearly every Sega system ever released, but the Genesis collections I have for the Playstation's fill that first party "need". Gimme some Golden Axe and I'm happy Sega wise. While I can still enjoy the occasional Mario romp from time to time (rare), this NES on a chip-controller I have fits the bill quite nicely. Yeah, I knew there were a bunch... but damn, that's a lot of the new ones that even Telegames and Songbird has pushed out. Since there are so many that are on both systems, do you think there's any possibility that other CD32 games can be ported to the Jaguar? I was curious what you meant by this when you said... "A couple of the games such as Dino Dudes and Flashback didn't exactly have a CD32 specific release, but of course can still be played on the system." Are you saying that those games are in some kind of "default" format and they just run on the CD32 but were never meant for the CD32, or am I misunderstanding? No, games like Flashback were released for the Amiga, but not specifically for the CD32. Of course, since the CD32 is essentially an Amiga 1200, easy to create a disc with the game on it and play on the CD32. Here's an official list of all released CD32 games: http://www.amigacd32.com/games/gamesearch.php?title=&submitButtonName=Submit
