Original Xbox softmod questions...

I have an original Xbox that I outfitted years ago with one of those soldierless Xecuter modchips. I am looking to sell the thing soon and plan on making it "easier" on anybody by softmodding it.

See, the soldierless chip has problems with the connection to the motherboard sometimes, and I'll have to physically "nudge" the chip to get it work sometimes, which will be a problem for anyone who isn't savvy on this stuff.

My question is - can I turn this into a softmod without having to format the HDD and get rid of all the contents? (It already has an evox dashboard, larger HDD, HDD unlocked, etc.) If I can do this, then how?

Everything I seem to find online only has help for those with vanilla xboxes that require a game exploit.

If it already has EvoX, and the other stuff, then isn't it already softmodded?

No.

Right now, it boots into a modified state courtesy of the modchip. If I were to turn off or remove the modchip, it boots like a normal Xbox, to the original dashboard. I want to be able to remove the modchip and have it boot to Evox without any chip assistance, mainly because the modchip I have can be a hassle to deal with.

Hop on over to www.emuxtras.net and do a search for babylon. It is made by a guy named SPPV and is like a one stop shop for softmodding.

Thanks, I'll check that out. Hopefully Babylon will allow me to softmod the console without messing up the current Evox and HDD contents.
