dk.bryant@yahoo.com
I have a nomad with a faulty ac port. It cuts off when it is moved at all. I'd heard I can replace it with a port from a genesis 2. Can anyone confirm this? I don't want to order a genesis 2 and it not work.
tidjo12
Hi, I think it's possible, because after some research, I found out that you can buy an ac cable that is compatible with both system. So if they can use the same cable, they probably can use the same port as well. http://www.amazon.com/Sega-Genesis-Power-Cord-Adapter-Nomad/dp/B00EAWGEF4

rolandg
I'm not familiar with the Nomad, but maybe all that is needed is to resolder the existing connector. Worth a look.
ApolloBoy
In most cases it's just that the solder joints for the power jack crack overtime and need to be reflowed. Both the Game Gear and Genesis/MD 2 have this issue as well. Just heat up the joints, add a touch of fresh solder and you're done. dougal22
Most likely a cold solder joint. I've got the same problem on my Turbo Express and Atari Lynx and on a GameGear. Need to sort them out.
