Tupin
Scored myself a toploader recently and was blown away when I saw the quality of the NESRGB board. I know it outputs RGB and was planning on having one of those 3D printed AV Multiout things. But from that, I was planning on a SCART cable that connects to some sort of adapter for HDMI? Is this ideal? Anyone here that did this on a toploader that can provide any insight?

Reaperman
This part's probably causing the lack of input: Anyone here that did this on a toploader that can provide any insight? Generally, scart to HDMI via a framemeister is a pretty common setup here. It works well for me, but I suppose absolutely ideal for some here would involve a high-end standard definition CRT instead. I'm not personally sure about NES or toploader specifics, however. Edited September 16, 2014 by Reaperman
mickcris
I have a NESRGB toploader. I use it with an xrgb mini. The cheaper scart to hdmi convertors work ok, but they are not nearly the same quality. Here is a page that has some reviews of some alternatives: http://retrogaming.hazard-city.de/ or get a PVM or some other sort of CRT monitor that can RGB input. CGQuarterly
Either buy an RGB monitor or pony up for a proper-quality unit like the Framemeister. Yes, it's expensive. But why go through the trouble and expense of RGB-modding a system just to turn around and use an encoder that makes the image look worse? I use RGB monitors at home, but I've seen the Framemeister in person, and it lives up to the hype.
Tupin
I'll probably look for a Sony PVM, they seem to show up enough around here. Just depends on the model.
