dj5kjlara
So I picked up a 7800 recently and I just got around to testing it out, and it works wonderfully....for 2600 games. When I pop in a 7800 game, the picture is all wavy, like if the RF connection was bad or something, like the "tracking" needs to be adjusted like on old VCRs. I've tested multiple carts, and it's the same for all of them. I've cleaned the carts and the cartridge slot thoroughly, but haven't had any luck making the 7800 games look any better. Any idea what this could be?
+DrVenkman
You might have a bad Maria chip (the graphics processor that only works for 7800 games). It might also be something going on in the RF modulator; the 7800 motherboard (mine, anyway) has two potentiometers that affect color output (one for the TIA and the other for the Maria chip). if that circuitry is going bad, your TV signal might be all kinds of messed up.
