SuperDork3000
What Jaguar games were over 2MB?
phoenixdownita
All the CD ones technically are bigger I know, smart ass reply, couldn't resist. I will check the Jag good-set tonight and list them unless someone beats me to it. Of the official games I don't think any is bigger than 4MB (and there are only a couple at the 1MB mark [like a version of Cybermorph])
+CyranoJ
All the CD ones actually use less than 2mb RAM..... phoenixdownita
To CyranoJ: My bad, by that token they all do then unless they have extra RAM on the cart. To PO: [ROMs bigger than 2MB] AVP Atari Karts BSG Defender 2000 Doom Fight for Life Flip Out! Kasumi Ninja NBA Jam TE Pitfall Rayman Skyhammer Space War 2000 Total Carnage Ultra Vortek White Men Can't Jump All the dumps mentioned are 4MB, not sure if they are overdumps or actual minimum sizes, but there you have it. The vast majority of the cartridge were actually 2MBs, but I guess you already knew that. Rick Dangerous
That's interesting how small most are considering how huge genesis games were getting towards the end. I wonder what the biggest Jag game is, 6 or 8 meg i'm guessing?
Shamus
You can do a 6 meg game without doing bank switching. Of course you can do bigger with bank switching, up to any size pretty much.
Zerosquare
That being said, to my knowledge no game bigger than 4 MB (commercial or homebrew) has ever been released, with the possible exception of Battlesphere Trio (hard to know, since only one copy exists).
Rick Dangerous
Okay I know this is slightly off topic but I know the N64 got up to 64 megabyte cartridge capacity. Has anyone heard of one being produced larger than that? I mean produced and sold, not just a one off or experimental.
Fredifredo
Brett Hull Hockey ( beta ) is 4 MB too ...
Seedy1812
Virtually all the files on Dinodudes , IWar and Bubsy were compressed to fit them all into 2Meg which saved a few pence / cents in manufacturing.

IIRC the only 2 that were 64MB were Resident Evil 2 and Conker's Bad Fur Day.
+CyranoJ
Downfall+ and Rebooteroids are both 4mb. I believe Another World is also 4mb.

segaklon
Do not quite understand why 2MB, referred to games that use more than 2MB of RAM that brings the console. And another thing what games higher capacity, as there are games that use 4 mb.
