metzger130
I played Astrosmash today for the first time and noticed, and used, the auto fire so that you didn't have to hit the buttons to shoot. I think that the company realized that they messed up on the buttons and control scheme to put an auto fire on it so that you don't have to hit the buttons. what does everyone else think? +JasonlikesINTV
Auto fire saves the thumbs, but I don't use it. My technique is to fire shots manually in quick pairs. Killer on the thumbs, but effective.
+cvga
I never used the autofire when I was younger because I was far more accurate manually. Now that I'm an old man I opt for the autofire.
darkknight4251
I've never used the manual fire option with this game. I've been able to get pretty good scores that way, but sometimes it does leave you a little vulnerable at the high speeds. It's probably just a personal preference thing. First Spear
When I got this new as a kid in the 80's we had an Intv I, and manual shooting was the best way to go because I could get off 2 quick shots in succession. Now that I'm using an Intv II, I could see using auto fire all the time to save the thumbs,
+intvsteve
I'd set autofire, but augment w/ manual at the same time. It does actually 'disrupt' the rhythm of autofire. Helped most on the splitting rocks.

tacrec
I love auto-fire, but THEN push the buttons for additional shots! Sometimes the UFO or GM flies between the auto-fire, so you need more accuracy.
ChefPepper
I use auto-fire, then the buttons for extra shots as well.
