Lotharek mod for PEB

Recommended Posts

I have a question that might benefit other new guys who end up wanting to upgrade to a PEB/Lotharek setup.

I was wondering what connector or connectors i'll need to get that installed. The PEB will have these cards in it. TI Disk Controller, Ti 32k Card, Ti Flexcable. Someone was saying it might be the 34pin IDC connector but were both not fully sure.

Alittle more $ than I paid but that's the ones I used. I like em cuz they match the all black Lotharek I got. You'll want 2 of them as the Lotharek is a half height drive and will leave half the space unoccupied (you can put another Lotharek or a 3.5 floppy or whatever there :) ) to put 2 drives in the PEB requires a little modification but not to hard :)

Just watch out :P its addictive :) I've been adding more and more to mine :) getting the parts for upgrading my FDC to 80 track now and gonna get the F18A :)

Can't wait for the new speech adapter and keyboard adapter to come out :) then I'm sure there will be more goodies to come after that haha

This really is a good time to get into the TI with all the new hardware and new games and new game and utility collections, ECT :D

Yes, the mods are the exact ones I want too, so many cool mods but I think those you listed, specially the one I am doing first and then the FDC 80, F18A, and the Keyboard mods are going to be a must. I haven't read anything about the new speech adapter mod, but if it's anything like these others I am sure it will be worthy!!! All of you here really made it easy to decide to not only get a real TI but upgrade it with a PEB and be a part of this wonderful Community!!!

For those of you not sure of what the Lotharek is...
For people just getting back into real hardware, this little device will solve the problem of getting downloaded software from the Internet on to the TI.. and you'll not even need an RS-232.
Since you'll have a TI-PEB, you'll retain full future expansion options by not being locked into a limited configuration. So you can get that harder to find RS-232 later if you wish.
