I figured out what happened, but not sure why it wasn't consistent for everyone.

At the bottom of the blog post I included the link for the S1E13 chapterized AAC file. The feed generator pushed both media files. At least one player picked the wrong one to play. I've updated and republished. Hopefully it is resolved now.

Sorry Bill!

Wade, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy this podcast. It has quickly and unexpectedly became one of my favorites.

My old slightly-yellowed Atari 800XL is sitting here on my desk right next to the two crazy-powerful workstations that I use every day. Even with this juxtaposition, it's still easy for me to lose perspective on just how far the technology has progressed over the years. I've never really used my 800XL for productivity, just games and programming and general tinkering, so I love learning about the software you cover: the cost, the capabilities, the limitations. What was it like to use the Atari 8-bit platform for real work back then as well as today from a retro-computing standpoint? Now I'm finding out, and looking forward to each new episode.

Your podcast is succinct, well-structured, and packed with information. You obviously do your homework, and the supporting screenshots on the website are quite thorough. It's also funnier than any podcast about productivity software has the right to be.

I was taking my kids to school one morning, and as the car stereo connected to my phone, the in-progress podcast on my phone resumed playing. My nine-year-old daughter asked what I was listening to, and I said, "Oh! It's a podcast about thirty-year-old home inventory software! It's great!" She didn't seem to share my enthusiasm. But she's cool, she likes the Atari 8-bit. I'm teaching her Logo on an XEGS, and I think we might try out Typo Attack after listening to S1E17.

Please keep up the great work, and know that it is definitely appreciated!

Thanks Shinto! I appreciate the kind words! I found TypoAttack rather entertaining, and its a game I'll likely play on occasion. One that I probably wouldn't have given a second look prior to the review. I'm glad your enjoying the show!

Thanks

Wade

APX also had an Atlas of Canada that quizzes you on Canadian provinces and their capitals. Kevin Savetz uploaded both the program disk and the manual to Archive.org:

Looking at the screenshots for the U.S. and European versions, the Canadian one looks like as if it was built from the same software engine. Maybe this would be good for a 2-part episode?
