Tempest
Quick question. If I were to remove the cassette port from the back of the TI and stick my F18a plug in its spot (so I don't have the cut the case) would that harm anything? I honestly don't see myself ever using a cassette deck and it would be a super convenient spot to stick the F18a plug. I just want to make sure that removing it won't short out the system or something.

Imperious
That is exactly what I did with my F18a, You have to be very careful drilling the holes though. Start with a small drill and work your way up. I had to file down the hex screw heads otherwise the vga plug won't fit. It's quite a tricky job but was worth the effort to avoid hacking into the case. Hacking into the case would have been easier though. +Vorticon
I like my joystick port. I have used it in the past for some fanciful hardware projects (light pen, credit card reader), so it might be useful to keep it. Also, for those interested in learning TMS9900 assembly but are unable/unwilling to invest in a PEB, the Mini Memory cart with its associated cassette based Line by Line assembler remains a very viable low cost option, which is indeed how I taught myself assembly. +Vorticon
No, sadly I did mean joystick port, at least for the hardware hacks. Twilight zone moment
