It has been 7 years since Packrat put out a new Odyssey2 / Videopac game, and that finally changes very soon.

As of December, 20, 2014 (the last day of Fall 2014, as promised), Packrat Video games, LLC is proud to announce a new game for the O2/VP system. Traffic!, by Chris Read!

"Help the chickens traverse a freeway with high-speed traffic, getting as many of them as you can to the other side. The chickens are counting on you to guide them, as many as you can before time runs out - or a chicken becomes roadkill! Traffic is a fast-paced game, which includes plenty of fast action, and ‘enhanced Videopac+’ graphics for those systems that support it."

It has been a long walk forward, but it is finally here, done in Odyssey2 style, but with support for ‘+’ graphics on systems that support such (such as the G7400).

The game officially released as on the 20th of December, but with the family issues I’ve had recently, this new game release will start a bit differently. By the 20th, the game will be available for order, but most orders will not start shipping till the beginning of January, 2015 at the latest. Just how it has to be this time.

Traffic! games will be built as quickly as they can, using new PCBs, and new EPROM chips (we recycle the old boards via a recycle program), with reused game cases of course. Traffic as stated will come with an Odyssey2 manual, along with an index card for standard VP cases.

Traffic! will be available for the reasonable price of $20, plus shipping. This game will be released, as normal with most Packrat games, with unlimited avalability (it will sell for as long as Packrat remains up and running). No limited release!

More info this week as the final details of the game are made ready.

Information on the game is on the Packrat site - http://www.packratvg.com/traffic.html (information will be added and hopefully update more by the 20th - for now it is rather blank).

Thank you for all those that have waited through the many delays.

Special thanks to Chris Read for being so patient with this release. René for his help with the high score code. Rafael Cardoso for the Plus graphics. Earl Green for doing the cover art, Jeff Koss, Rene, and myself for play testing, and for all the support here on the forum!

Thank you!

That video you posted is a traffic related set of two games made in Europe back in the day, as an educational game for teaching children has to cross a street properly and safely. Somewhat rare actually.

As for Chris's games, I've liked all of them, to various degrees (as with any game author who makes multiple games)!
