Heaven/TQA
hi guys, sorry... just checked my Atari800PAL I got some months ago and realized that it has a different PSU connector than the XL models? As I got the machine without PSU can some of the PAL users tell me which PSU I need to get to get the baby alive?
Rybags
The one used for 1050 should work fine and IIRC some printers used it too. Also in common with 1200XL. The operative thing is it's 9V AC, I think the VA rating is somewhat higher than later machines, probably ~ 3.5.
Heaven/TQA
ah... 1050... that PSU could be somewhere in the Attic.
Rybags
I've almost always had shortage of PSU vs machines. Got a 400 and 1050 PS, computer is convered but one 1050 isn't, 1200XL isn't. Got 7 or so other XL/XE machines but only 1 or 2 PSUs that I'd trust with them. But 5V DC options are almost infinite these days.

Rybags
Only 2 pins are actually used... been meaning to build a USB adaptor, so long as the wall-wart is > 1 Amp it'd be sufficient, > 1.5 Amps preferable for expanded machines. I cut the cords off of some bad ingot power supplies that I'm planning on attaching a USB plug on so I can do this exact thing!
Thorsten Günther
@Heaven: if you don't find the 1050 PSU, you may try this one - granted, it's amperage seems a little low, but I've already successfully used one with a 1050, which also has an original PSU with a higher amperage.
