danwinslow
Apologies if this has been already asked and answered, but I couldn't find it. Is there an English translation of the SDX programmers guide available anywhere? TIA
+Stephen
Last I knew, it does exist, but is still being worked on, and only one or two people have it (and are sworn to secrecy). I am not one of them either! But when SDX 4.47 comes out, I think the english manual will be released with it.
danwinslow
That would be awesome. Any partially translated or anecdotal info out there?

danwinslow
Ty Jon. I'm porting the dragon cart kernel over to SDX via a U1MB equipped 130xe. I am mostly interested in learning about extended memory handling. I get the feeling that just commencing to whack on portb maybe isn't the greatest idea for that setup. At least initially I was wanting to learn how not to overwrite banks in use, and eventually using the bank reservation system. Right now I am using just 1 bank, but TCP will require at least a couple more for buffering. I know drac said that was undergoing significant changes in the upcoming 4.47, so I may have to wait until then. I was also just generally interested in the page 7 symbol lookup and calling system, what symbols there were available and what their calling parameters were. flashjazzcat
I've got some code from The Last Word which avoids SDX banks but allocates its own extended RAM; hopefully this won't break under SDX 4.47. But if you want to use the new extended bank allocation system, you'll certainly be better off waiting for the official docs. Shouldn't be long now.
