How's Mega Bomberman? I know it's good but what's like compared to the PC Engine/TG-16 and SNES/SFC versions?

I've only put a few hours into it and gotten through the first three worlds so far, but I really like it! The single player mode has got a lot of variety and the Louies are adorable as all get out. Unfortunately the only other Bomberman games I've ever played were the original on the NES and Bomberman 64, so I can't comment on how Mega Bomberman compares to the PC Engine and Super Famicom games, but I can tell you that it looks great and is a ton of fun to play! :)

You really should grab Super Bomberman 1 and 2 on Super Famicom (not the overpriced SNES versions). They are fully in English and both cost $5 or less even shipped from Japan.

For less than $5 on ebay, I got a game I've needed for years now.

I'll explain, I used to own this game. Stupid cover art, but Great Game!

It was 2002 when a girlfriend's 3 year old kid wrecked my copy of Super Bust A Move. I don't know what he did, but I found my game CD in 2 pieces...Needless to say he wasn't allowed to touch my video games after that.

When that relationship ended it was for the best, even if I was a bit depressed at the time...but I always wanted to get that game again!

Not sure what took me so long :D

A pick up from this weekend at the Detroit Comic con. A business from Wisconsin was selling shadowboxes of all kinds of retro games. They all have a great 3D look with different levels of perspective. I had to pick up one of my favorites! Considering buying more they looked so nice.

Renton City Retro pickups! A bit more implusive than I usually go, but the only thing I saw from the want list was that Powerstone 2 there. Not pictured: the copy of Medievil I bought my sister that I can't get to run. I looked it over briefly at the con, and it looked dirty but fine- after cleaning it though, I spotted this odd mark, like an indent instead of a proper scratch? It's not through the data layer, so I'm hoping taking it somewhere for a professional resurfacing will get it going.

Also, I didn't buy the Asteroids- that was a gift from a friend who found it while cleaning. She's never owned an Atari 2600, so it's a bit of a mystery.

I love Super Monkey Ball... the music kicks a lot of ass and it was made by the same people that made F-Zero GX (AV)...

Today I accomplished a goal that I've been working on for the last 4 months, and made the last major hardware purchase that I'll be making for the foreseeable future.

The Sega CD did need some minor internal work, but nothing too major. Just cleaning the old dried up grease out of the gears that drive the laser assembly, regreasing them with a little white lithium grease, then desoldering the old ML2016 save battery that wasn't working anymore and soldering in a new one. Pretty simple stuff all around, and the Sega CD works beautifully now. :)

Combine that with the Genesis Model 2 Rev. VA4 that I picked up back in March:

And the 32X that I scored last month:

Sega's 16-bit marvel is complete! In all the years that I've been buying and selling retro game systems I only ever regretted selling two things: My original Game Boy (which I got back earlier this year) and my Sega Genesis Model 2 / Sega CD / 32X setup. Now that I've got them both back I'm feeling pretty darn content, with my only remaining hardware wants being a Master System Converter II adapter to also play Sega Master System games on the Genesis setup and some HD Retrovision Genesis component cables to get the best picture quality out of everything. There's no rush on those though and neither are going to break the bank, so for now I'm just happy to have my Sega Clusterf**k back together! :D

I bought a Wii with 2 remotes & all hookups for $10 and a GH world tour guitar for $2 at the local Goodwill today.

Dumbest thing was they had 2 other Wii's which where console only priced at $25 each. So I had the option of $10

for a full setup with 2 controllers and an $2 extra to grab the guitar (as I did) OR I could have gone with console only

Wii for just over double the price? Nice consistency in your pricing you got there Goodwill.

Pickups from Seattle Retro today! The Renton show didn't have anything in the way of Turbografx, so I've made up for it ?

Solatorobo stung to pick up- not because it was priced unfairly or anything. I'd intended to pick it up back at release, decided to wait for a "good sale", and waited myself right into a massive price spike. *sigh* But now I have it, and it's complete, and I don't have to think about the price anymore!

The Hello Kitty & Pac-Man stuff was won at a local arcade. Glad to have my Pac-Man figure set complete again... maybe? This packaging is new and says there's 8 figures, but I've only seen 7- I don't know what I'm missing!

I'm surprised how stupid the NA cover of Super Star Soldier looks... the PC Engine cover for the game is sooooooo much better! Also, how much did Darius cost?
