walter_J64bit
What did Atari use for their OEM 30 pin simm in the STE's was it IBM, Intel or was it Kingston memory?
Rybags
Probably whatever they could get cheaply at the time, so it might have changed by the month. Supposedly the earliest STEs had soldered in SIPP types, then moved to the SIMMs that slot in.
Lynxman
I found always Siemens chips soldered on the Atari Simm-PCBs.
walter_J64bit
My SIMM slots looks like they factory stock from Atari.
galax
Supposedly the earliest STEs had soldered in SIPP types, then moved to the SIMMs that slot in. Some of the early STEs did indeed have these. The motherboard had markings to show where the SIMM slot should go, and the shielding had a piece missing to allow access to the SIMMs, but the SIPPs (looks like a regular SIMM but with pins sticking out) were just soldered straight in there.
