Omega-TI
Have you ever seen a modification or an upgrade done by someone that so impressed you that you feel everyone else should know about it before they decide to hack into their computer? I'll start this thread out with a mod that so impressed me, that after seeing it made me wish I had done mine that way.. but by that time it was too late. The F18A install of Imperious shown in << this message >> This is by far the cleanest, nicest and most professional looking install I've ever seen. Have you come across any mods or upgrades that have impressed or inspired you to upgrade as well?

+OLD CS1
Thread here. I must have overlooked what he used as the base machine. The 1500XL is his pet name for it (though there was such a thing as a 1400XL.) Check out the Commodore 64 laptop. Anyone making a TI-99/4A laptop?
Shift838
I had a picture I am trying to find of someone who took the guts out of the 99/4a and put it all in a PC case and wired up a PC keyboard. it was very well done, but I have not been able to locate it yet. When I do I will post it.

Omega-TI
The Portable TI. MICROpendium Vol 6 #5 << MICROpendium Vol 6 # 5 >> (Jump to page 26) Hey that's kind of cool. Now day's if I really needed to get my 'TI fix' away from home, I'd just load up Classic99 on the laptop, but I wonder what a person could do now day's though. With an F18, you could eliminate that TV and use a flat screen monitor and even eliminate a few power sucking IC's. Removing the clam shell would reduce size and weights as well, of course integrating a Nano-PEB would be a must. The keyboard integration would be interesting proposition. Of course with 3D printers one could make some custom fittings to old parts. My question is, what would you use as a base unit/shell? I like your scan MUCH better than the one below. Are you going to complete it for us with you high quality version? #2 #
+Schmitzi
ah OK, didn´t see. So there are missing 2 other parts, right ? I have to look, i think I have most of the MicroPendiums here....
Omega-TI
ah OK, didn´t see. So there are missing 2 other parts, right ? I have to look, i think I have most of the MicroPendiums here.... Sweet! It would AWESOME to have all three parts in one pdf file! <hint hint> Also, page 27 in part one could be removed as it's just advertising. That way a double sided print job would only use two sheets of paper instead of three with a blank side. ON ANOTHER NOTE... With a 3D printer, I bet a guy could make a 'top half' to enclose an LCD monitor and attach it to the main body of the TI like a laptop... sure, it would be a FAT TI, but still smaller than most 'luggables' of the time.
+Schmitzi
OK, but new scan will take some days, because will be much work for my staff <hint hint> Yes, I also still thought about that LCD-enclosing, but I am missing that 3D-Printer /EDIT/ Should I scan 3 parts, including the frontside/firstside of each magazine ?? (as done here, including the very first page in the PDF) Edited March 3, 2015 by schmitzi
Omega-TI
As you and/or your staff are doing all the work, that is up to you of course. Now me personally, I'd probably separate parts 2 & 3 with the covers of each, after having edited out all the extraneous items on the covers.
+Schmitzi
...some days later... I have uploaded a new full scan, 15 pages, searchable, in 1 PDF: ftp://u67140205-atariage:TeXasTI994A@toxic-instruments.com/_DOCUMENTS.bak/MicroPendiumVol6-5-THE_MAKING_OF_A_PORTABLE_TI.pdf In addition, you can find the 15 original scans here below, in the folder _DOCUMENTS.bak, maybe for further editing (as my PDF-skills are not the best) ftp://u67140205-atariage:TeXasTI994A@toxic-instruments.com You are welcome to upload newer versions, and anything else you have hint hint

Opry99er
The sidecar one is a joystick adapter... Back one looks like a box to allow for RCA-RCA cables for TV hookup?? Then the F18A... Switches on top look to be for an over-clocked crystal and a reset switch? Edited October 4, 2015 by Opry99er
sparkdrummer
Rave Keyboard interface - love it. 80k GramKracker with 16k switched supercart (hate my homemade label) box on the left - Joystick adapter for one stick - switch towards console - joy1 - away - joy2 yellow toggle switch behind joybox - switch forward - normal - switch backward - turbo switches on top left - black pushbutton - reset / red pushbutton - load interupt / white toggle - back - normal operation - forward - hold. box on back - top rca is audio out - bottom is video (no longer needed) and of course my slant on f18 installation motherboard has both video mods - resistor and capacitor (no longer needed of course) I decided to snap some pix today because I finally installed a switching power supply after 10-20 years of procrastination. I love doohickies.

Hey, thanks for the listing of the mods. One more question, are we talking power supply for P-Box here... or in the console? If it's for the console, more photos would be great for a DIY tutorial. BTW - They have a cup for that!
