Atari 2600 6 switcher black screen

Hi,

 

I have an old 6 switcher 2600 that has the common black screen no sound fault. I have checked the voltage regulator, cleaned the cartridge socket etc.

Most likely the TIA chip is gone, is the TIA chip compatible in all versions of the 2600? The Jr model can be picked up very cheap and I was hoping to pick one up as a donor.

I'd like to make sure the pinout and voltage etc of TIA chips is the same in all revisions.

I got a 2600jr and 7800 and tested with the original VCS both the TIA and RIOT work in all versions..

 

My problem was the 6507 in the end and not the more common TIA fault..
