The cool thing about Yars' is the "pause" function between levels. Or does the game go on by itself after a certain amount of time? There's also the danger of fire with this old hardware, though... It's not too bad once you get the rhythm of the game with the pink shield. Exactly. When I got a rhythm going it seemed easy. I did get down to 3 Yars at one point. One tip I can throw out there is this: From pink shield on, stay on the left edges (top or bottom) at the beginning of a round and avoid the first swirl. Then go nibble on the shield.
