Nintendo partners with Universal for theme park attractions

Recommended Posts

This is a little old but just wanted to find out what you thought of Universal Studios possibility adding a park attraction or ride based on Nintendo characters? Will we be seeing a real life Mario Kart racing being added to Universal Studios or just another meet and greet with Mario?

I think one of the attractions will consist of if you go there with your girlfriend or wife, she gets kidnapped by a real life gorilla who climbs up on a construction and starts to throw barrels at you. It would also be a great partnership testing exercise, can and will you save your significant other from the crazy ape or leave it at that?

It can't be a Mario Meet and Great only due to a rumor where the Nintendo Area is supposed to be There is rumors for Universal Orlando that the Kidszone would be turned into a Nintendo area. The question is the time frame and the attraction or attractions in question.

I read this information from the same poster from a theme park forum that mentioned upcoming attractions for the 2 theme parks in Florida in the past before Universal announced them and turned out to be right like the King Kong attraction. I found out the King Kong attraction from reading about back in 2014.

What I know is Universal does have plans for Florida after King King in terms Marvel attractions being replaced by new Marvel attractions. There are other rumors with Universal that includes a 3rd Water Park and other stuff for the Park.

I am sure of Universal not just using Nintendo Characters to a do a meet and greet only due to they handled Harry Potter unlike some Disney theme parks. Based on what I read in the past, Disney actually showed J.K Rowling a sample what they could with Harry Potter by having Harry Potter attraction that is similar to Toy Story Midway Mania.

I do think it is possible that a Super Track could be built or a Zelda ride for that matter.

Nintendo's new president Tatsumi Kimishima addressed upcoming theme parks in his Christmas message to shareholders and investors.

However what really strikes me is this passage:

In the field of home entertainment, the video game industry is one of the few industries established in Japan that spread around the world, and Nintendo has established itself as a well-known brand truly representing video game culture throughout the world.
It is like there were no video games before the "crash", and it was Nintendo who established this brand new industry that took the world by storm. Perhaps something was lost in translation or overlooked, but I'd rather say that Japan revitalized the video game industry, putting new hope into a dying segment, than being its origin.
