AtariLeaf
I didn't know a 5200 would even fit in a dumpster.

+save2600
I dumpster dived BITD (early 80's) - and found all sorts of cool things! Wouldn't make sense to go through the trouble today. Hell, shopping thrift stores hardly makes sense when looking for this kind of stuff anymore.
toiletunes
I wouldn't go out of my way to find stuff, but I would take what I saw.
zylon
Does picking up things abandoned after a flea market closes count? I got my first 5200 that way and it actually worked. I used a piece of steel wool to start games for a few years after that.

Hyperboy
Dug 5200 items out of the Atari Service Center dumpster. (Arlington, TX) (want to say about 1983) What kind of treasure did you find??
doctorclu
For the 5200 not much. A Pac-Man cartridge, some 5200 parts, a 5200 controller, and I think we found a spec sheet for the 5200 though not as descriptive as what we would find in tech manuals later. Still fun though.

Keatah
Today and recent times, no. But back in the day, we dived dumpsters on occasion looking for any and all electronics. I do get the urge today to do that today.
