thegamezmaster
I have one of these and on the Breakout game the paddle has lines or streaks coming off it. Anyone else have this or know what's wrong and how to fix? Need help please! Thanks for any help on this problem!
chas10e
have you tried cleaning the potentiometer ? I recall mine wasn't only jittery but had streaking lines as well they used the same pots as the cx-30 2600 paddles http://atariage.com/forums/topic/184296-slowcoders-guide-to-cleaning-up-your-2600/?p=2316794

chas10e
Are you talking about the big dial one on the console? yes ... the paddle knob ... I recall mine actually using the earlier version of the cx-30 paddle pot with a carbon contact inside .... ( DON'T use dielectric grease on that portion !!! ) it's almost like a motor brush
AtariLeaf
My Sears model has a little bit of the streaky line but I haven't bothered trying to fix it. It's still very playable and a very fun breakout version.
thegamezmaster
Took it apart and blasted every opening I could see with contact cleaner and it worked! The only thing I saw was a little bit of red on the left part of paddle. Is that normal? Thai you very much for the help!

I wonder if that has something to do with "convergence" adjustment on the TV yeah mine seems to have that as well ... only quickly tried a game on one of my TV's great excuse to get the thing off the shelf & give it a go I took care of sticky buttons by wiping around outside of them & inside where they sit with some WD-40 sprayed on a cotton Swissper (don't go wild spraying THAT stuff) I don't think there is a way to clean the inside of the flipper buttons My Sears model has a little bit of the streaky line but I haven't bothered trying to fix it.
