For Sale: Multi-Combo Power Supply (Sega, Nintendo, Atari & Sinclair)

DESCRIPTION:
Whatever console you are currently enjoying it is crucial to use the right Power Supply.
Your original or aftermarket AC Adapter may be in fact not working the way it should be: suffering from a very high amount of ripple (noticeable by the amount of picture and audio noise), spitting out voltage higher than the nominal one, stressing the life out of your machine with unregulated, dirty, current.
With the Multi-Combo Power Supply you have now the chance to obtain a single device which makes possible to not only solve the aforementioned issues but also power up a great range of Consoles and Home Computers.
Let's not forget that ol' Consoles and Home Computer were usually bundled with unregulated AC Adapters, which means that the current is not stabilized. Well, the Multi-Combo Power Supply will provide regulated and steady 9VDC which is going to extend the lifespan of all of the connected machines.

How does the same black plug work for both center negative and center positive consoles?

All you have to do is:

1) Use the NTSC Multi-Combo with NTSC Consoles;

2) Use the PAL Multi-Combo with PAL Consoles.

It is very simple: if you have a NTSC Sega Genesis then you use the NTSC Multi-Combo. The Black Plug is the correct one. The Yellow and Gray Plugs won't simply fit.

;)

So..you are saying with this one multi adapter I can plug in my...

- Japan Sega Megadrive (J-NTSC)

- NTSC Atari 2600

- NTSC NES system

ALL THREE SIMULTANEOUSLY?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but thats what I gathered from your description and the pics do not show any plugs... please inform me if this is correct

I am talking about POLARITY not size or video signal. The systems you list that use the black plug have varying polarity, so how does the same plug work for both center negative and center positive adapters?

If it works that plug end wont fit in alot of the consoles . This power supply works for just about any system but the plug end won't physically fit in alot of them so the custom cord ends are for the consoles that the power supply plug end won't fit in . My custom made power supply set in my opinion is great and the power supply without any of the custom made cords will fit right into an nes and other systems . Going left to right is one for the snes , 5200 , sms , 7800 , and 2600 . They snap right in and out .

Strange, I don't get the polarity either.

Based on me flat out asking about the polarity and him telling me about NTSC vs PAL power (WTF), I don't think he gets polarity either. Not to mention the incorrect statement about this keeping ICs other than the voltage regulator cool. That's simply not accurate.

The example AtariBrian posted is a pretty good example of what I kind of thought originally, generic laptop charger with a cable that plugs inbetween. Just coupled, can explain reversal of polarity as well. Not sure this is the same that he posted, they all seem to be black, not color coded.

EDIT: Either way, if the adapter cables all work out (how does more than one work?), this could be pretty cool in terms of reliabilty.

No. The polarity is equal for all of the consoles listed under the Black Plug. If you are talking about the Nintendo NES and Super NES, then you should know that they don't care about polarity. Not only, with this Multi-Combo 9VDC will be feeded to the internal 7805 so the machine won't be powered from 12,4VDC (in the case of the original AC Adapter, the 9VAC is rectified and becomes unregulated 12,4VDC, so 12,4VDC unregulated is feeded to the 7805).

Compare a 7805 powered from unregulated 12,4VDC and a 7805 powered from a regulated (and cleaner) 9VDC.

Not to mention the incorrect statement about this keeping ICs other than the voltage regulator cool. That's simply not accurate.

Again, power a Sega Genesis with its (unregulated) 10V Power Supply (which fluctuates between 10~11V). Check the temperature of the internal 7805.

NOW, power a Sega Genesis with a 9V regulated Power Supply and check again the temperature of the internal 7805. Which one is hotter? In which case the 7805 works cooler? In which case the 7805 does have to do extra work?

Finally, compare the amount of ripple between the original Power Supply and the regulated current provided by Multi-Combo.

Either way, if the adapter cables all work out (how does more than one work?), this could be pretty cool in terms of reliabilty.

Yes. If in doubt, all you have to do is to write which consoles do you own and then I will check - one by one - if everything is perfect. ;)

A paper with the complete list for each plug is included, there is no space for doubt. Furthermore, I had this idea since 2012 so I studied during the time each of the above listed console. :)

Yes. An adapter with three different plugs (Black, Yellow and Gray) is included.

I've removed the diciture of each plug from the starter post to avoid confusion, detailed one is obviously included with Multi-Combo.

Do you have a picture of one with the multi plug? How long are the individual cords for each system? Just wondering how this thing will look if I hook three systems up to it :) I think this would be a huge selling point honestly, like Wiz said....right now all I see is half of a laptop adapter ;)

Sure. As I write I'm thinking of a Multi-Plug which is even more *particular* than the one already build.

How long are the individual cords for each system?

The lenght of each cord is of 1,5MT. If you have suggestions feel free to write them here.

Right now:

1) It is perfectly possible to request for a custom cord (if you, e.g, desire to power one NES, a Sega Genesis and an Atari Jaguar at the same time you will receive a Multi-Plug with three *Black Plugs*, a single *Yellow Plug* and one *Gray Plug*);

2) The original DC Plug will be left untouched;

3) Longer cords can be requested;

4) Both the list of compatible consoles for each plug and their exact polarity will be clearly written and attached.

I'm pretty confident of the quality of that Power Supply as I've been using use a pair of these since 2012 and they still work perfectly. By the way, that one ain't a laptop charger but a quality Power Supply bundled with an electronic device used in server environment. ;)

Thank you guys for your suggestion.

This is the Multi-Combo Plug. It features ONE Yellow Plug (Sega Genesis II, Sega Game Gear, Sega Nomad, Sega 32X) and THREE Black Plugs (Sega Genesis, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Mega-CD, Nintendo NES, Super Famicom, Super Nintendo just to mention a bit of the supported machines) which together supports the consoles mentioned above.

In case of buying one, the matter is very simple: all you have to do is to specify your actual machines and I will take care of individually mark each wire.

Last but not least, if you own an Atari 2600 or any ZX Spectrum, one of the Black Plugs will be replaced for such purpose.

Oge
