roadrunner
How rare is a 1985 Pac ManOne sold today for $2.50 Is there a 1986 also? I seen 1987 ones before
Omegamatrix
The grey box for it is really rare. I own the one scanned on Atarimania. I have never seen another one.
Philflound
Yes, there is a 1986. Check out my site if you have any questions on releases. My guess is that I have at least 99% of all the Atari carts shown that have been released. http://www.videogamevariations.com/AtariCompanies/AtariGames/Pacman/pacman_cartridges.htm Phil

+swlovinist
I have a loose 87 pac man. I love collecting these late releases.
Philflound
Carts pop up once in awhile. When I find games in the wild, like a system with 25 games, I'll usually get some of the later dates. Finding boxes on the other hand is most difficult and the majority of boxes I've picked up over the years have been online. Phil
+save2600
Crazy to think that post-crash, Atari *still* saw value in producing and selling 2600 Pac-Man! Food for thought.
Philflound
Actually post crash still had demand overseas, which all the late boxes for the most part were geared towards a foreign market. So while the domestic market was dead, the foreign market was still thriving. Phil
Zwackery
I like the grey box releases and try to collect them. That Pac-Man is nigh impossible to find. It would be interesting to know the general production run on these late releases.

Philflound
is there a 82, 83, and 84 cart? 99% sure there are none. They probably had so many copies that there wasn't a need for it for several years. It seems 1985 is the first re-release year for any of the titles. Going with what is in my head, every game skipped from the last release, maybe 1980-1982 to 1985. Those in 1983 most likely went to 1985 and skipped 1984. Those made in 1984 went to 1985. I'd have to look at the titles to confirm, but this seems like a good guess. That's if there was a 1985 title. Some came out with 1986 instead. There are many listings on my site that have cartridges with 1985-1988 dates, but I don't have the boxes to correspond with them. Anyone who owns and can scan the boxes for me I'd appreciate it. Omegamatrix
Now you have. Noice! I see yours had tape on it like mine. My sticker fell off so I can't tell if it came from Kay Bee or not. Maybe Kay Bee taped these boxes. Now, do you have the grey Earthworld box too?

Philflound
Cart 1 refers to the fact there is a circuit board protector that is locking over the pcb. Cart 2 means it has it, but it slides and does not lock. Cart 3 means it is open and you can see the contacts. It has nothing to do with holes under a label. Philflound
The way you described how you understood cart 3, it sounded like you thought it had to have holes. You didn't mention the cbp. Do you have a photo of it? Phil

Phil I do not include Hangman in this group. It is in its own unique category. Here's my copy of Outlaw. I do not own Backgammon, but I've heard it exists.
