Jaguar devkit valuation?

Recommended Posts

I have a Jaguar dev console with stubulator ROM (October 1993), controller, PSU, 2MB Alpine board, ST/TTE floppy disk with tools/samples, and printed manuals. The kit is confirmed working - I was able to transfer ROM images from a Linux laptop to it. I've been meaning to put it up for sale for ages but I've never been able to figure out a reasonable valuation. They hardly ever seem to have come up on eBay for example.

Anyone got a clue? I suppose "it's worth whatever someone will pay" is the real answer :), but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

Regards,

Ash

Probably not worth a dime over $30 but I'll give you $50 and pay for shipping so it doesn't just collect dust.

;-)

If you actually bite, then awesome lol but realistically... I think if you piece it down to each item - the Jaguar itself is probably worth between $125-$150, the Alpine is probably about $350 and the extra tools/manuals not much since it's all avaialble online but for the collector probably $50+. The last one I had seen went for somewhere in the $700 price range on eBay but it was in perfect/mint condition - like never been used new condition. Most people will probably want to upgrade this to 4MB which will cost a few hundered bucks. It probably comes down to the condition and how long you're willing to sit on it and wait for the right buyer if you're looking for the best price on it. It's probably more targeted for the collector than developing with seeing as how there are other cheaper options like the Skunk board to develop games on now.

You should post a few pictures of the entire setup running/working.

I'd be amazed (and pleased) if I got near that price, TBH! I saw one on eBay UK from a couple of years ago (which also had the Jag CD dev kit) which went for only £155 (about $250US I guess).

I think it very well depends on timing and market and potential buyers. I remember seeing a setup go for $350ish years ago as well here in US. Prices have somewhat jumped since then I think.
