wyerd
I've only just started playing Moon Patrol, after reading that it's Omega's favourite game. I started zapping the nasty aliens and jumping over the craters when this strange sprite came across the screen..... Has this something to do with the F18A? Nope, that's on EVERY disk & download version I've come across. It goes away after you pass into the second level. Of course it's not there on cartridge versions. Yep, I LOVE that game... of course the tune will go through your head for days if you play it too much.

Friend or foe?
Omega-TI
Nothing, just ignore it.
Tursi
It's part of the checkpoint marker - instead of being zeroed the pixels there are loaded with corrupt data.
+Schmitzi
Wow, great. MoonPatrol. I have this cart, have to pull it out soon. We played this game in former times on an ArcardeStation in a Cafe-House next to our school. Night & Day, Day and Night. And the teachers were searching us there every time, once they got aware of that
Omega-TI
This would be another game that would greatly benefit from Rasmus-Like attention with F18A upgrades.
Imperious
It's probably the most faithful port of all as far as looking like the arcade version is concerned. The lack of explosions when You kill anything is a bit of a let down though, although I imagine the poor old TI was pushed to its limits with what was possible back in the day. Some other versions are terrible, I don't like most including the c64 one with its snow capped mountains on the moon, a bit weird that. It is also quite unique in that the buggy hangs there a bit before dropping back down, actually a bit more realistic with the Moon's 1/6th Gravity.
globeron
Talking about strange characters in games, also note the "extra half PACMAN" at the left of the screen in TI-99/4A version :-)
