bgrahams
Many moons ago and being member of the Dallas Computer Clubs I played around and sold Music Studio for Casio and Yamaha keyboards. I would like for anyone who has Music Studio song files to get in touch with me. I also would like to know how to make a copy of the 3,5 inch original disk that I have and took forever to find, any clues appreciated. I also have a 5,5 inch floppy of Music Studio. Also would like to know if anyone has a copy in 3.5 inch format of Music Studio or knows how I can get a back up copy. Just real reluctant to use the only copy I have until I have a back up. In the future I will be reproducing Music Studio song files.

Fletch
Here is what I have pertaining to Music Studio. MS.ZIP has the player. The BRE disks have the songs, except BRE_363.ZIP which is four more SNG players. I have a few other disks that won't read at the moment. If I can bring those back from the dead I'll post those as well. Grazey
Ta for those disks. I'll see if any are missing from the sndh archive. Though I better hurry as a release is imminent!

Jim Patchell
I just updated my webpage. I added the following zip file: http://www.noniandjim.com/Jim/MusicStudio/MusicStudioUtils.zip I just downloaded and tested the archive, and the test came out OK. Let me know if there are any other problems. I do not actually have the format for the Music Studio file format. What you will find in the C and h files is what I have managed to reverse engineer.

Jim Patchell
I think I have almost figured most of it out. Trouble is, it has been many years since I have seen Music Studio or Music Studio 88. In the file format, there seems to be four 16 bit words at the start of the song data. This is at file offset 0x200. I am pretty sure that these are supposed to be track enables. But what I don't remember, is why are there four sets of them?
Jim Patchell
Does anybody have screen shots of the various views in Music Studio 88?
Jim Patchell
Does any body have a copy of Music Studio that is actually operating? I need a .sng file made that has nested repeats. I do believe I have pretty much got a player written for windows, but so far I am not finding any songs I have that use repeats.

Jim Patchell
Well, I have found an Image for Music Studio 88. And it works in Steem. The only problem I have is that I don't remember how to use the advanced features. Did a search on the web for a manual, but came up empty. Does anybody have this manual? I think I have one around here someplace, but not sure where it may have gotten off to.
fedepede04
Hi. i have also look on the internet for the manual but i could not find it, so i have bought the first version on ebay(could not find the 88 version), when i get it i will split the manual and scan it, i shall remember to send you a copy
Jim Patchell
I am still looking form my 88 manual. However, in that process, I archived all of my old ST floppies, and found this little gem. Dates back to 1987, written by somebody who did a pretty good job of reverse engineering the .SGN format. MSFRMT12.txt
Jim Patchell
Hold Everyting Folks. I have just located my Music Studio 88 manual. It is a little late for me, but I will scan this tomorrow and post it. I am very happy.
