I was thrilled when I read Sunday's newspaper (yes, I still read the newspaper.) I saw that Sue Grafton was going to eschew her naming of alphabet novels (i.e. R is for Ricochet), and just name the latest one "X". Why do I care? It's not because the series is the same age I am, it's because I have a little library of one-letter book titles. Believe it or not, they are actually somewhat easy to find. Going by a list I found on the internet and going to various area book stores, I was able to find c, H, M, Q, S., V., and Z. And I bet X will be popular enough to grab when I go to the book store this weekend (it came out on Tuesday, I think.) One day, all 26 letters of the alphabet will be book titles, and one day I will have all 26 of them. Then I will have to search for duplicate books (different books named the same letter.) I also have a companion book called "One-Letter Words: A dictionary." It has definitions for all 26 letters of the alphabet. The letter X alone has 76 different definitions. Make that 77 (a novel by Sue Grafton). Yes, I know I'm weird.
