Brad2600
I recently learned that a RF Adaptor and power supply could be used to power my 1200XL. However, what kind of power supply can I buy/use today that will work with it? I would like to at least power it up and look for games for it..if I can get it to work. Let me know! Thanks! Jetboot Jack
Both B&C and Best sell PSU's for the 1200XL (its the same one as the 800 and 810)... sTeVE
Shawn Jefferson
I've been successful buying Atari PSs from Ebay for less than what a new one costs at Best or B&C. However they are used and you take your chances with eBay. Just keep your eye on what a new one costs and don't buy one from ebay that is going to be more with shipping. svenski
Hi Kepone, Jetbook Jack is right, you can use the 800/810 etc PSU or the PSU that shipped with the XF-551 disk drive. Best Electronics are a good place to source from. Obviously, regardless of where you buy from, that PSU might be relatively pricey for shipping because of its weight. The 1200XL originally shipped with a cable to switch box, designed for old style TVs. Using a new RF lead will bypass that problem. You can set your 1200XL to output to tv channel 2 or 3, just make sure you remember which one you have it set to when tuning in. You should get a black screen with "ATARI" in multi colors when you power up your machine without a cartridge inserted.
