RangerG
I played Iron Forest the other day with the Diecom adapter for the Sega phaser. The one I have is not the original one, but a clone (not built by me). The sound and play of the game is great. The gun is pretty accurate. I posted pictures of the adapter and then me shooting. You are supposed to protect your bird, not blow it up like I did. But, it is hard to shoot a phaser and a picture via phone at the same time :-). I don't believe there were many of these made and not many homemade/clone ones either. It's a shame because it is fun to use and there are two good games for it. jhd
Cool! I was not aware that a lightgun existed for the Coco. Is it a fairly recent development?
JamesD
Cool! I was not aware that a lightgun existed for the Coco. Is it a fairly recent development? No, it's been around since the 80s.
RangerG
It was late a 80s development for the CoCo3 (and I believe the games needed 128K)? It was made by a company called Diecom. Sometimes the CoCo3 games look great, but they are slow or buggy or just not fun. But, the phaser games surprised me and they hold up really well. All CoCo 3s come with at least 128K so I'm not seeing an issue there.
RangerG
True, I see that now. The way it is written in the manual I thought maybe there were CoCo3s with less than 128K. I know there are a few 512k CoCo3 only games.

It works really well. Fun game. I have the other as well... Medieval Madness is it?
RangerG
Yes, Medieval Madness, it is also good, and more in-depth than Iron Forest.
RangerG
I bought a new enclosure (and cut it to fit) for my Diecom adaptor. I added a Sega auto-fire set-up, and it works! You hold the trigger and it continually shoots. It doesn't spray bullets, it is an even, continual shot, which lets you aim better because you see where the other shot went. I increased my scores and it made the game better in my opinion.
