Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 When you make a SPRITE, you can set it in motion in the same command. CALL SPRITE(#1,104,16,100,100,0,-10) #1=Sprite number 104=Character number 16=Color 100=dot row 105=dot column 0=Vertical speed -10=Horizontal speed Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Iwantgames:) Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Posted "Lost in Space" in the entry thread. Figuring out sprites took some doing but it came out ok I think Only thing id add if I new how to make good sound and had space would be the lost in space theme song Edited November 11, 2015 by Iwantgames:) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 Very cool. The hat wraps all the way around the screen and I kept watching to see if the sleigh would catch up to the hat.... but alas, I believe the Spirit of Christmas will truly be lost forever. On sound.... you'd be surprised what you can do with just a couple lines of sound. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Iwantgames:) Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I wouldn't know what tones to put together to get the right sounds I suppose I could try but idk Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 Okay... This is the last one I'll be doing, likely. Took me almost 5 hours of work to nail this down to 10 lines. Had to leave out a few things I wanted, but I think it's worthy. 1 CALL CLEAR :: CALL SCREEN(2):: CALL MAGNIFY(3):: CALL CHAR(96,"C0C0C0C0E0A0BC87C08F80BF807F10FF00000000000000FF01F105C103FE09FF") 2 CALL CHAR(104,"00000000000003BF7FFF3B332C681B001133160C1E1B9EF8F8F0E0F0D0A0A040",112,"1818",113,"0",114,"0",115,"0") 3 CALL CHAR(108,"00000000000007BF7FFF3B3B585050B01533160C1E1B1EF8F8F0E0E030505090",116,"000000000000031B1A3E7EFFDB7E6666",118,"0",119,"0") 4 CALL CHAR(120,"C0C0C0C0E0A0BC87C08F80BF807F10FF00000000000000FF01F105C103FE09FF"):: A$="hjhjhjhj" :: B$="ikikikik" :: DISPLAY AT(10,10):A$; 5 CALL CHAR(124,"60784F4038080407060D0D1F040813120000C060301010F0104810F0781CD648"):: DISPLAY AT(11,10):B$;:: CALL HCHAR(23,1,96,64) 6 CALL SPRITE(#28,112,2,78,149):: FOR I=10 TO 100 STEP 10 :: SPD=INT(RND*5)+3 :: CALL SPRITE(#I/10,112,16,I,I*2,0,-SPD):: NEXT I 7 C$="lnlnlnln" :: D$="momomomo" :: CALL CHAR(96,"FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF"):: CALL COLOR(10,16,1,11,13,1,9,13,1):: DISPLAY AT(3,7):"FROM OPRY99ER"; 8 CALL COLOR(#28,7):: CALL SPRITE(#13,116,11,161,248,0,-13,#14,116,15,161,100,0,-13):: FOR COL=1 TO 8 :: CALL COLOR(COL,16,1):: NEXT COL 9 CALL SPRITE(#15,120,7,72,66,#16,124,16,64,66):: DISPLAY AT(10,10):C$;:: DISPLAY AT(11,10)$;:: DISPLAY AT(2,6):"MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!"; 10 FOR I=1 TO 100 :: NEXT I :: DISPLAY AT(10,10):A$;:: DISPLAY AT(11,10):B$;:: FOR I=1 TO 100 :: NEXT I :: GOTO 9 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

am1933 Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Flight of "Ol St Nick", groovy-has a kind of Father Christmas meets Parsec vibe going on!!!, Just need a refueling tunnel for the reindeers and we are sorted 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 Thank you, fellas. The last two items I was able to squeeze in were Rudolph's nose and the Greeting. Had to leave out some of my scrolling landscape and a Santa animation, but I was pretty happy with the end result. Santa Parsec.... That sounds pretty cool!!! Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 Ahhhhh, I screwed up on something!!! In all the moving around of character sets and line contents, I duplicated a character definition. See lines 1 and 4... When I switched from single sized double magnified SPRITEs to double sized single magnified (late last night), I had to swap charsets and totally forgot to remove the original CHAR 96 definition that I swapped to CHAR 120. I could have added Santa animation. :*( Oh well. It is done. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 6 official entries so far. Looking like this will be a double sided tape with two chained programs if we stay at this pace. The more the Merrier. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
InfernalKeith Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Just added mine. No great shakes, but I knocked it out in an hour over breakfast. I wasn't going to enter at all, but the snow piling up line by line was similar to something I'd already puzzled out in one of my unfinished games, so there it is. This is a really cool idea, Owen. Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 Hey Keith!! That is one nice demo! The snowflakes have a very random "blowing" feel to them. I LIKE IT!!!!! My "Silent Snowman" is more of a perfectly still morning with no wind. Yours is a blizzard at night. Tursi's kind of has a "slight breeze" feel to it. These are some very cool demos, guys. KEEP EM COMING! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
InfernalKeith Posted November 11, 2015 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I let mine run for a while till it filled the screen with snow, and found a glitch, but it only happens when the snow reaches the letters at the top of the screen. I'm gonna leave it for now. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 I ran it for about two minutes... About 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Opry99er Posted November 11, 2015 Author Share Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Buck is working on a demo right now. He had a nice picture of some presents and kids, but he wasnt happy with it. He asked me how to 'do a VCHAR automatically a bunch of times'... He is learning to use commands inside of loops now. I hope he uses his time wisely today while I am at work. He has a pretty neat plan for his demo. Edited November 11, 2015 by Opry99er 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Opry99er Posted November 13, 2015 Author Share Posted November 13, 2015 If you haven't had a chance to run sometimes99er's "Holy Moly" demo, get on that. It is truly a feat in 10 lines of XB code. Keep em coming in, guys. This is really fascinating to see what can be done in 10 lines of XB code. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Opry99er Posted November 13, 2015 Author Share Posted November 13, 2015 I think for this contest, I will be posting a poll to determine a winner. I will chain the programs together and so a short video, showing each one for 10-20 seconds or whatever it takes to fully show the demo... Then I'll post the vid to the poll, and let anyone and everyone vote. There is a way to mask who voted for what demo I think... An "anonymous" poll of sorts... That way we can all vote for whichever demo we like best. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
