Albert
I'm at the Houston Arcade Expo this weekend, and there is a TI-99/4A setup in the retro consoles/computers area. Someone asked me if it's possible to get separate chroma and luminance outputs from a TI-99/4A to hook up to the back of a Commodore 1702 monitor. I didn't know the answer, but I told him that the experts in the TI-99/4A forum here would be able to tell me in under five minutes. Thanks! ..AL
+Schmitzi
Hi, I think the best possibility is the F18A-Video-Board, this is for a brilliant VGA-output and 80colums: (but the important question here is if that works with this monitor here !) http://codehackcreate.com/store#!/F18A-V1-6-Video-Board/p/14022176/category=0 But there are more options, means also some smaller mods on the existing equipment, but i am not the specialist here I watch out now for some links, but I am sure there will be qualified answers here soon xxx /EDIT/ some links: (but please be aware that I am oblivious to the 1702er monitors (and many other things) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. carlsson
This thread says "no", or rather you would need to get a 9928 chip and quite some work to adjust the signals to even match modern day component video, much less S-Video. On the good hand, the 1702 might actually support the progressive signal that modern TV:n would choke on. If I recall correctly, the C64 etc also produce progressive signals. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/172937-getting-s-video-from-the-ti-console/
+OLD CS1
Yarrrr, yah, that be my thread, matey In short, S-Video is YIQ not YUV, which is a slightly different signal but enough to not provide color. My recommendation: get a good passive composite-to-SVideo adapter or get an F18A and go SVGA. I have purchased a few of the composite adapters and have surprisingly good results with nice clear output. I will try to post some pictures up this weekend if I have time.
