mikecad
Hi there, I bought a netusbee from Lotharek to use in my Falcon 030. I am using TOS and the latest Sting software and downloaded the relevant ENEC3.STX file for the Falcon and dropped it into the folder with the other STX files. When I boot it loads TCP/IP and I am able to go into control panel and configure a static address and subnet mask. I am using 192.168.0.11 with a mask of 255.255.255.0. I have also confirmed that a MAC address has appeared in the configuration. My Windows machine is using an address of 192.168.0.10 with a mask of 255.255.255.0. I can confirm that the Ethernet is ticked as Active in the Sting configuration. It does seem to have a solid green light on the activity side of things though, but I can't ping either machine from the other. The Falcon can ping itself on loopback and its own address. I have tried with a crossover cable from the Windows PC to Falcon, I have also tried connecting them to an old 3com switch using regular cables. I get link lights ok. In the crossover scenario I set the NIC on the Windows PC to auto, to 10mb full and 10mb half with no change in behaviour. Bit stuck now, any suggestions? mikecad
There is something bizarre about this forum. I spent a day scratching my head on this, trying different permutations etc. As soon as I post I check the routing tab file and see that the subnet is incorrect for the IP's I'm using. Change the IP's and everything is now working. This is the second time for me that a post to this forum has presented a lightbulb moment!
