How to best use AA Blogs

I only recently started to experiment with the Blogs here - August 2015. I understand the use of Tags. I understand the use of Categories. I use both in my entries.

 

For example, here is the Category I use for all AdvII XE updates and entries: http://atariage.com/forums/blog/blog-618/cat-212-rl5202-a

 

And here is a similar use of a Tag , although it seemed earlier that this doesn't always give all the entries - http://atariage.com/forums/tags/blog/Adventure%2BII%2BXE/

 

 

Here is my one question - I see how you can follow somebody's Blog, and you'll get email notification if they add a new entry.

 

Why would anybody Follow an actual entry? It doesn't seem like anybody goes back to an entry and edits it. Even if you did, that Blog Entry would not rise to the top of the "Most Recent" list, it seems.

 

So does the "Follow on an Entry" really serve no purpose, or am I missing some kind of functionality here?

 

And am I correct in my observation that most people create an entry , then there can be some Comments on it, but nobody keeps using the the same Entry over and over for updates (like you would do in a Forum thread - adding more posts to it) ?

If you follow an entry, perhaps you get notifications when others have commented that entry?
