I also raised the question of if we were able to secure proper resources for him funds and necessary equipment that may lead to him completing the game. This would include better mechanics. New levels maybe and not having to level skip. He is asking if the source is available? I was thinking since the cart is a dev cart that it might just already be one in itself. I dont know about these things. He has old disks he would like to have someone look at for him. He fears due to age the disks may be ruined so someone skilled in that area would also be needed to check out what's on these old disks. As much as I enjoyed the prototype, I feel it could be much much better given the license and the original dev may be on board for this. As to your other point, about how games like these are found, "Glenn the 5200 Man" made the claim in his Antic Podcast Interview that he has several unreleased 7800 games on disc [unclear if they are ST or Amiga discs but most like ST discs]. Thought I'd ask because we have a professional data recovery specialist company nearby and they claim they are almost always successful in retrieving data from really old discs [or disks]…including 8" disks. They primarily do government work, not just for the State of CA but also the Feds. I'll have to dig out some of their swag to get the company's name... There's gotta be a trusted member living in the UK with an ST that could assist Mr. Peavey in reading those discs and then get the contents to you... I'd hope that same member could also assist the programmer of 7800 Paperboy in going into his attic to recover his ST discs that might still be readable with the source code to it. For the record, people have tried contacting Glenn the 5200 Man since his Antic Podcast interview inquiring about him stating he has unreleased 7800 games [on either ST or Amiga discs] but he hasn't replied back. If he truly did get discs of unreleased 7800 games when Atari Corp closed down, then he could possibly have Electrocop. It's a common problem with digital archiving and preservation - proprietary formats needing proprietary hardware/software to be read, copied and saved, on top of bit rot being an issue.
