NES Pac-Man (Atari Hack_JPyle90)

Good idea, but like the "Atario" SMB ROM hack, the graphics really do not play into the limitations of Atari. I recommend reading the book "Racing the Beam" which provides much non-technical discussion of the Atari's display limitations.

The Atari had a playfield grid full of tiles one high and four pixel widths across. Currently pixels are too wide compare to their spacing. I would start by making every dot one pixel high and four wide with four pixels between dots. This will simulate the Atari playfield. Make every wall 4 pixels wide as well and line them up with the borders of the pixels. The ghost and Pacman sprites look fine as they are. For the score display, make the numbers using a rectangular Atari like font rather than textured NES font. That should help a lot.

I didn't code this ROM hack. I saw the vid on YouTube and the game's hacker had a link for the ROM on it. I agree though. It woulda been really cool if it had been as authentic as possible. I'm not sure how much the hacker was really "into" the project. For example, some creators are passionate about a project to the point of near madness lol. But it's not bad at all.

@Kosmic Stardust, yeah I liked Atario a good deal as well. There were a couple other similar SMB hacks I've played as well. Atario Bros. was probably the best one.
