Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

Unfortunately typed words do not carry tone of voice, I meant what I said exactly as I typed it, I am genuinely perplexed that you would want the thing. UK mentioned he talked to you but we did not discuss specifics as it was assumed to be a private conversation. The idea that ANYBODY would want that poison pill is so strange to me that I can't imagine a reason why. Saying that isn't intended as a stab, anything that ecosystem had or has could be created fresh without the toxic reputation in the community and potential legal pitfalls. So yes, with no rational reason I wondered if you were jerking Socal's chain for the mess he caused you in the CC debacle, which would be pretty funny. Whatever your plans are, I am at a loss to think of one that would benefit from paying money to acquire that train wreck.

Ahh ok ok, That is why I asked if it was stab, because tone doesn't translate in forum post.

Piko will have nothing to do with that, and I paid whatever I am willing to lose.

When I started Piko, I was being bullied by Chinese factories; I didn't even know if the contacts I was speaking with were real companies. I invested in Piko whatever I was willing to lose and sent out a wire transfer to a Chinese account. Everything worked out for the best!

So I hope this works out, if not, no harm. In regards of stocks etc, The Majority stock owner is responsible to distribute the money acquired on sale of assets; kind of like a trustee during Ch7. Not too worried about it. So parties will have to come to him for that.

5. The ColecoTM drama would be more compelling if both sides would come out to say loud, stupid things in public on a regular basis. I know of a good spokesmouth who would be perfect for stirring things up.

LOL! I'm trying to keep things as professional as possible. I realize that doesn't sell movie tickets! :P

That being said, Coleco did just post another lie on their public FB page documented here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/265739-coleco-strong-arming-homebrew-publishers-and-fan-sites/page-6?p=3765669&do=findComment&comment=3765669

I don't quite understand why they keep posting stuff like this for everyone to see when it's clearly not accurate and they'll just be called out for it over and over.

(Actually, I do understand...it's because they are not smart.)

This post seems to summarize the problem/solution well ... if the naughty-game-developers don't use the ColecoVision logo, and clearly mark their compatible-but-unauthorized stuff as not affiliated with past, present, or future "ColecoTM," seems like everyone should be happy. Right?

I think you got the gist of it. If that is the only issue (or leg they have to stand on) I'd just put the 8bit boobies games behind an +18 wall on the site or just have another tab on the tab section of the site that was for only the naughty games. Then there would be nothing to complain about from what I've gathered.

Yeah. Well. That was a thing that happened.

*cough*

Ugh

When Eli took possession of GameGavel and Retro Magazine, let's hope he washed off most of the stupid juice. That stuff is contagious.

It probably should have gone into the warehouse with the Atari Jaguar molds, where they can't hurt anyone else.

The urge to acquire memorabilia of notorious people has an attraction for some people. Hitler, Stalin, Napoleon memorabilia go for big $$, even if the first usually go to private buyers and collections. I'm sure MK memorabilia isn't worth much, I would think that if Eli paid $5K, that would probably be a high estimate and too much. A fool and his money are soon parted.

I want Mike Kennedy's Snezzz prototype. I can put it in my WWII trunk. I got the trunk from an army surplus store. In the dusty corners there were hidden Hitler stamps which was kind of a bonus. The trunk has these four holes in its corners that the store owner said was for holding it in place on a plane. In the lid there is a sticker with a warning. I haven't opened it for awhile so I don't remember the exact words on the sticker but it is something like,"The D-2 Destructor must make it to its final destination at all costs!" I asked the store owner what that is. He didn't know so I just had to get it for the mystery of this secret weapon or whatever it is. Anyway, the Snezzz is a perfect fit because like the Jag shells who knows what really belongs in my trunk.

@Mike Kennedy, do you accept checks? icon_wink.gif

Patreon begging site and infrequently updated Facebook page for ReadRetro are still up. I'm curious about how the news will be broken to the still-faithful fans and pledgers. The new owner isn't much of a wordsmith.

Well, the old owner was Mike Kennedy. I'm thinking anything is an improvement.

Inattentional blindness made me completely miss that he bought Retro Mag along with GG. But there it is, plain as day.

Skaarp Lazer Razor's updates are worth reading for the affirmation that you made the right choice by not backing (as if there was ever a question).

I would particularly direct you to the update on Jan 25th, 2015 which states this fun excuse (emphasis, mine):

Interpretation of some of the physics 15 months ago led us astray, resulting in a 12 month set back of the fiber drawing. With the funds we received from the backers, we were able to purchase very powerful hardware for even more advanced and much faster computer modeling, which has corrected the path of the fiber iterations.

Scam product o'the week is going to fail to get its $500,000 but it's a flexible goal--so they'll still get the $900 or more they've been pledged.

The Catnani claims to keep pets off tables and counters, but probably should be under SD&R's "Don't buy robots" category. I was okay with it until the video showed it moving around objects to get near the cat to spray it. It uses a special collar to detect when the cat's nearby. How does it know the cat's on the table and not below it? And is it able to avoid falling off? Also keep in mind, there's already an existing product called Ssscat

Also, the whole "coupons and vouchers" thing is weird. Let me guess: The vouchers say, "If Catnani ever comes to market, you're entitled to one. " If not, you're SOL.
