+Random Terrain Posted January 5, 2016 Share Posted January 5, 2016 This is on the bB page: vblank can be used in bankswitched games, but it must be placed in the last bank . . . While cleaning up the code for Seaweed Assault, a change I made somehow caused "-16 bytes of ROM space left in bank 8." I didn't see how, and couldn't figure out why, so I gave up and took a look at bank 8 to see if I could do anything there. There was a significant amount of code in the vblank section in bank 8. I wondered if I could move most of the vblank code to another bank, jump to that code from the vblank section in bank 8, then jump back to the vblank section in bank 8. I tried it and it seems to be working. Now I have "664 bytes of ROM space left in bank 8." I wish I knew that back when I was trying to finish Seaweed Assault. I'll do that in the next bankswitched game that I make and maybe I won't have as much of a struggle trying to get graphics data to fit in the last bank. 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
