why don't the colors show up? player is all black.

Because you need to put

"set kernel_options player1colors" at the beginning and change player0 to player1 unless for some reason it has to be player 0 that is all colored, in which case it's "set kernel_options playercolors".

now I can't even run visualbB without it crashing every time after a script error. I have windows 10.
