Matej
Yesterday Olimex posted first pictures and early specs for their 5x5cm small SBC computer.PICTURESSPECS 5x5cm PCB (1.9x1.9inches) H3 quad core Cortex-A7 processor 512MB of DDR3 RAM 2x USB hosts for mouse and keyboard Ethernet 100Mb interface HDMI Full HD output 4 buttons micro SD card UART console USB-OTG which also is used to power the board 4 mount holes 2x 40 pin connectors (optional) which carry lot of GPIOsOSAndroidLinuxSo ideal for Emulation! Maybe in future they will have bigger RAM (there was LIME2 for example). I think 4x Core can be fast for Atari emulation. What you think?LINKhttps://olimex.wordpress.com/2016/02/03/h3-olinuxino-nano-is-only-50x50-mm-but-has-everything-one-computer-must-have/#comment-21683
TPA5
Looks neat, but I'm not sure how much better than the RasPi it would be. Not only does the RPi have the support of programs like RetroPie, but it can run Win10 (though admittedly I'm not sure how smooth it is). Plus it has the 1gb of ram. For Atari emulation I am sure this would be great as you don't need overwhelming horsepower for that (depending on what system you're trying to emulate), but for much past that I don't think it is an RPi killer. Keatah
Great to see more emulation options. Each time one of these things comes out it means we're one step closer to preserving the classics!
Osgeld
against the pi zero its better, against a pi a or B its better against a PI2 b+ championship edition (really they only have like 4 boards they couldnt come up with another name than a second B?) it may be on par other than ram Windows 10 on a 1ghz cpu with 1 gig of ram is a dog, and retro pi is just a linux app it shouldnt be that big of a deal to slide it over to anything you want including a PC, though its not the ONLY emulator front end (and frankly not even that graceful of one either) But also like the pi zero you cant actually buy this thing anywhere so everything is moot at this point Edited February 11, 2016 by Osgeld
TonyD
I've been hoping Olimex would bring out something like this. I think its the same Allwinner H3 as the $9 computer. As for the RPi Zero I've got ReproPie & EmulationStation working on mine with a custom controller board. I'll post project details if any one is interested?
