Macflame
Has anyone tried any Flashback 2 or 3 joysticks with their Atari St?
Fletch
I have used Flashback 2 joysticks with the ST. They work just fine.
Macflame
That is great news. It is cheaper to buy a used Flashback than a pair of used joysticks.
walter_J64bit
Why get the Flashback 2 joysticks? You should get the XEGS joyskicks they are the same color of the ST.
Prosystemsearch
If only Atari were quicker to program use of at least 2 button games(at least for the STe). Then it would make more sense for one to put say, a Sega genesis or Master system Controller into the controller ports.(s).
NightSprinter
Yeah, except they won't work when you plug them in. I tried to use my 3-button Genesis pad on my STE, I couldn't move my character around at all in any games. I think it's due to the wiring in the Sega controllers? Not sure. That's why the STe has those two Jaguar PowerPad ports on the left side of the machine.
Lynxpro
They did. That's why the STe has those two Jaguar PowerPad ports on the left side of the machine. They were STE PowerPads first. The STE was released a good 3 years before the Jaguar; the Falcon030 also came out before the Jaguar. Granted, they would've probably been used by the Panther first - or at the same time as the STE - had the Panther been released. Of course, I'd like to hear a detailed discussion on how the Enhanced Joystick Ports are different from the 5200's ports, aside from pin configuration. Seems Atari Corp expanded upon what Atari Inc had already done there. Edited March 3, 2016 by Lynxpro
