atariactionman
Hi, I have a very unusual problem with my harmony cart. If I start my console with paddles attached, the red fire buttons do not register. If I start with a joystick, games that need the fire button to be continually pressed down like milipede, the fire button stops working after about 30 seconds and becomes totally non responsive, all other features work, but I have to reset the console. Is it the paddles? No. If I start the console with joysticks, then select a paddle game, then switch to paddles, the game plays ok. Is it the joysticks? No. The same happens even if I use a different joystick. Is it the console? No. I have a 4 switch all black and a sears video arcade 6 switch. Both behave the same. I have also reloaded tbe bios, no change. I can get most games to play ok but some just wont because of the joystick button lockout after 30 seconds. Any advice would be great. My cartridge is about a year old and I havent had these problems until recently. Edited April 6, 2016 by atariactionman
Thomas Jentzsch
Does the problem only occur with a Harmony cart or does it also happen when you use a normal cart?
atariactionman
Only when I use the harmony cart. Normal carts are fine.
Thomas Jentzsch
It could be a weak power supply. Did you use different power supplies for your two consoles?
atariactionman
Yes, I do tend to use the same supply. I will try another one later and get back to you tomorrow with the results. Love your trak ball game mods by the way. Brilliant.
atariactionman
Just tried another supply. Exact same problems. Fire buttons stop responding on joystick and paddle selection impossible. Bizarre behaviour????
Thomas Jentzsch
Indeed. I am lost. Please contact Albert, maybe your cart is broken.
