tschak909
It occurs to me, that T1024 can be primed with roughly 14 cycles to get approximately 192 lines of output. What are the advantages / disadvantages of doing this? -Thom
Thomas Jentzsch
If your kernel code is buggy (incorrect timings), using T1024 (or TIM64T) will keep the scanline count stable. I mainly use this in the early stages of development, later one the code should be stable regarding the timing. Also you can time blank frames with T1024. And for larger PAL kernels, TIM64T doesn't work anymore. BTW: TIM64T can be used as an index inside a kernel. Since it doesn't run in sync with the 76 cycles per scanline, some data has to be repeated.
