Elizabeth1701
So it had been working fine, then the other day it started not wanting to work! Even though I had just recently cleaned all that game contacts and console fingers. But so I cleaned it a gain even carefully pulled back the label and took it out. Made sure they were as clean as could be. It seems to have some dark spots like pitting/corrosion on the contacts, more in them than on them so its not coming off. But not bad and more up towards the casing. But it could be causing a connection issue with the rom chip? First I have to check the continuity between each contact and the chip. But was just wandering if the game could be having a contact issue with a finger on the console that the other games may not use? Unless they are all used with every game? I was thinking if the PCB is bad and the ROM Chip good I could maybe solder it to another PCB! So unless this could be a sign of the ROM Chip failing I may try that. I have a Bad Donkey Kong (But was thinking of taking a closer look at it, other duplicates I could steal a PCB from. Right now it will work randomly but most times it wont. Plus I tried it in other consoles, only game that is acting up I know of.
Elizabeth1701
Now the Cart is working fine again. Probably a spec of dust that just didn't want to leave!
Elizabeth1701
Well it apparent;y is working fine in one console at least. So I'm guessing this may be a console bug apparently the Indy 500 has one. Interesting enough I believe that cart works in this console so if it is, it may be a different issue. Indy 500I f a unit works on everything except Indy 500 then pin 23 o f the A202 isprobably shorted to a data line . Could maybe be a bug in and older rev of the IC? Elizabeth1701
Problem Solved! I had swapped the I/O chip with a newer one from another board trying to correct a problem with the left input line, which turned out to be a weak power input trace. So I put the original I/O chip back in that fixed the Chopper Command Problem
