Silverfleet
I was perusing these earlier today. The feels.... Oh, and I found this little gem in the Metroid II issue: Little Jimmy predicted Super Mario Galaxy back in 1991!
Flojomojo
Alas, we can only display 16 million colors on our 64-bit computers, even though we can round modern emulators up to pretty much being able to "play any game from any video game system that ever was or ever will be." I went searching for him, and found this http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329188 Including what seems to be a grown up picture of Jimmy. He was born in 1978 and is kind of a tough looking guy. https://gameblorg.com/tag/glen-cove/ I did not know of this little legend, but it looks like there's some chatter about it online. Cool find! Silverfleet
That is crazy. Reading this again, and reading those threads, I realized that Jimmy basically predicted the Nintendo Wii. Can play any game from any system? Virtual Console! All the controllers? There were lots of peripherals. A "chip" that allows you to make games for it? Well, you can insert a SD card loaded with homebrew games into a modded console, so there's that. The "Raw Power" part was wrong, but wow, the other stuff is dead on. Either that, or Nintendo got some great ideas for the Wii from this letter. Crazy.
Silverfleet
...And they are gone. Nintendo must have gotten upset.
Flojomojo
Dang. I should have grabbed them. Ah well, they're still "out there," you'll just have to venture a little deeper into the seedy underbelly of the Internet to get them. AguyinarRPG
I was perusing these earlier today. The feels.... Oh, and I found this little gem in the Metroid II issue: Little Jimmy predicted Super Mario Galaxy back in 1991! Variations on Super Mario "World" were actually quite common back in the day. I saw one early internet post talking about "Super Mario Universe" for a console which lampooned the recently announced Ultra 64.
