icemanxp300
So I got a few Saturns today and as it usually is when someone has two it is likely because 1 is bad... and 1 is lol. I would like to eliminate the laser right now as regardless if it works that is not the problem as I do not get any video or audio. I should get the language and date menu as I do w/the other system even w/no cd, but I get nothing. There is def. no audio as if it was just a pure video problem I would still hear dinging from moving the controller around the language menu. Theoretically I could have audio but if the menu's never boot I would not get a chance for audio to kick in. The caps look fine, solder joints look fine. I suppose the caps may be the problem and honestly that's about the only solution I have been able to research that relates to this issue. It gets power, as it loads a blank screen. When a cd is inside it spins slowly for 5-10 seconds then just stops completely. Any ideas? Just an update I swapped power supplies w/the working unit and the working unit works fine w/either power supply so that can be eliminated. So basically has to be bad caps or a bad chip/connection. X5900
Hey ho, could you post the first four letters/numbers of your serial number on the back?

Professor Gull
I think I have come across this before as well with a model 1 Saturn NTSC. The serial on your looks like a model 2 though round buttons on the top. I would guess you used multiple cables to try out for the video as well but have you tried one with s-video? I had a model 1 that would not provide video nor audio till I used a s-video cord. the standard pack in composite would do nothing and I tested the composite cord on a model 2 and it worked fine. Could be a bad video/audio port.
icemanxp300
It is a model 2 and I don't have an s-video... I don't think. The cables I used are fine as they work fine with another model 2 system that works. Possible problems I have come up with is bad caps, bad bios. and could be a bad video/audio out. Professor Gull
Hmm definitely a strange issue. I wonder if you could try a memory cart or action replay to bypass the automatic load. I am just throwing out thoughts now but that might be worth trying.
