I didn't mean to work on this for 6 hours or so today. But one problem led to another, and then I wanted to do this thing, and then I fiddled with the score changing after you touch the ghost, and before you know it, the day is almost over. Yeah, I know, I woke up at 5am and it's now 3pm, but I don't want to be asleep more of my life than I'm awake, but I have to because I am sleepy. I also designed a website for the game. That was the easiest part of the day. So now with all the stuff I wanted to do for now done, the next step is adding a new floor. I want each floor to have 8 rooms. And I want 4 floors, for a total of 32 rooms. 32 is a round number (in computing terms). It's a power of 2. I was having all sorts of problems, so most of the time was spent moving parts of the code around until it decided to work for me. I think for what I'm doing, I'm going to have to make this 4k. I mean, I just started on it and I've already used about 1,200 bytes. I think once the game ends, the number of lives left will disappear because HAUNTED HOUSE has 12 letters in it. (The "maximum" number of characters available on the screen at once is 12. I put maximum in quotes because some games, like Frogger for example, have more. But I don't know how to do that.) The score will be visible on the title screen though since it's made up of quads. The eyes roaming around are sprite 0 and the ghost is sprite 1. The urn pieces will be sprite 2. I don't know what to do with sprite three, though. So anyway, most of my awake time today was spent working on this game.
