S1500
So what are the key differences between Recalbox vs RetroPie? I'm using RetroPie now(it's brittle), and only saw a video of Recalbox. Looking at the video, they look almost the same. A similar cross-bar(?) interface to pick console, then game. I have a spare sd card(from a broken build of RetroPie) I should give Recalbox a try. Jetboot Jack
I use both - but prefer RecalBox... Retropie is more flexible, has more things you can twiddle and supports more systems - RecalBox is very stable, it's simpler (less systems and less config options) approach makes it just more robust and it has much better support for the BT 8bitDo controllers (which I use). I swapped between the two for a while, but have now settled on RecalBox (latest WIP beta) and it runs 24/7 without a hitch. sTeVE

It's different for RecalBox, which is a bunch of files. Do I just format an SD card to FAT32 and copy the files over?

Inky
I'm looking at the list of consoles... No Intellivision or Colecovision?
fujidude
I was just checking out the latest RCB and RP (RetroPie), and decided I liked the RP better. Quick question though... how do I exit out of a MAME game? I can't seem to do it with the controller or even a keyboard. I prefer to be able to do it without a keyboard, but something is better than nothing. Anyway, my setup: Raspberry Pi 3 RetroPie 4.0.2 External USB HDD (mounted at /home/pi/RetroPie lrMAME2003 Sabrent corded USB game pads (similar layout to PS3 controllers) I configured Emulation Station for the controller and am able to use it to navigate the ES menus and such just great. I can launch MAME games. I can play MAME games. I just can't exit the damn game! To avoid corruption, I use an SSH session from another computer to regain control of the Pi. That's definitely not a solution I am willing to continue using though! I've poked around the dox a bit, but nothing's jumped out at me yet. I'm supposing digging into the Retroarch configs is the answer? It's just that I cannot believe that everything goes as smooth as it does with the setups and usage, but then there is no exit setup for MAME games? I feel I must be missing something simple? I figured some of my peeps at AtariAge would know a thing or two on this. Please help!
S1500
Funny, but familar. I can't find a way to exit out of MAME on the Nintendo Wii. There's simply no option in the center menu to do it.

fujidude
Okay I figured out like 5 minutes after I wrote this. You press the controls that are assigned to SELECT and START simultaneously.
