Ethaniel
Hello everyone. I managed to get a french 7800 recently that has rbg by default. The machine runs fine but the image doesnt. on crt tv i get only b/w image while on my flat hd tv (through rgb to hdmi adapter) i get color image but it randomly moves the screen sideways every 4-5 seconds for a second and centers again. The console looks REALLY clean inside and all solder joints are nice a shiny. is there something i should look at? I have soldering experience but never had a 7800. thanks PS: i can provide pics or vid if needed

You may find this thread informative with helpful information and tips. Some technical highlights include: "As stated on many French Atari forums, the signal output from the SCART of the 7800 is not standard. Something like a strange Vsync signal... Basically on most modern TV, the display will flicker or jump. Same with SCART equipped atari STs and Falcons. Some tech infos here (it's for STs/Falcon, but it's the same for the 7800): http://www.yaronet.com/posts.php?sl=&s=144669&p=3&h=60#60" This thread may be beneficial as well. Another highlight: "The French 7800 needs a multi standard TV as the RGB signal isn't the same as UK RGB. The French 2 pin/24-volt power supply can be plugged into a UK 2 pin shaving adapter. If you're looking for one on eBay try including the word "peritel" (french name for scart) when searching and select "Include title and description"
