RF to AV

yes just keep in mind its RF to a demodulator, its still going to have a ton of noise, good, or later model VCR's will supress the noise a fair amount (vs a passthough on a old cheap 80's model) but its still going to have the noise in it

if that's acceptable to you or not, vs your time and trouble is up to the individual

Most noisy dirty RF is a direct result of bad connection between the console and TV. You can get very clean RF that looks nearly as good as composite on old CRT TVs with proper cabling and hookups. Manual or auto switches can go in the trashcan though. You really need a direct hookup with high quality RG6 cable. For consoles that use the RCA terminal for RF, better to place the adapter on the console side, instead of the TV side. If you insist on using an RCA cable for RF, get a premium shielded cable rated for high speed "digital" signals. These are thicker than your standard RCA and will carry VHF with less lossiness than the cheapo crap.

old CRT tv's have the added benifit of being slow and fuzzy, on a modern EDTV CRT or a HDTV LCD you can still see the snow patterns plain as day, again up to the individual, their level of acceptance and devices used

also to be fair getting rid of the snow via a direct AV composite mod doesnt solve the problem of bleed and overshoot, it just removes the snow effect which is a direct result of using radio and a antenna aka wire, no matter how well its shielded and connected
